Videodocumentation of WALLCOME Festival in Schmalkalden

"In September 2014 the Thuringian small town of Schmalkalden was ruled by urban art and graffiti. During its main event week, the urban art festival WALLCOME offered films, presentations, exhibitions and live-painting, introducing the many facets of graffiti and urban art. Now, only a year later, WALLCOME's operators and organisers, including well-known urban artists like AKUT and CASE, look back on their work. A documentary film captures all of the murals that the involved artists created for the festival. Bibliophiles will be pleased about the printed documentation also available. The booklet's 60 pages entail not only pictures and articles on all of the participating artists and their works, but also many in-depth essays about graffiti. Anyone interested may order the booklet by e-mailing the festival's organisers (kontakt@wallcome.de). The urban art festival WALLCOME has demonstrated vividly that street art is not limited to urban environments. If supported by the local authorities, administration and businesses, this unique art form can find its place in rural areas just as well. Two collaborations - same colors

Klub7 - a group now based in Berlin - did this work last Summer in their hometown Halle/Saale for All you can paint Festival The second collaborative mural i like to show is by CHU, TEC & P3DRO from Buenos Aires in Barracas - Buenos Aires/ Argentina during Meeting of Styles 2012. It's kind of funny to see two works that have a distance to each other of at least 11500km done in same color scheme. I like both ;)

Jitter Jitter

Other from Montreal went to Heerlen/Netherlands to make another crazy mural. This Town is maybe the only one in netherland that collects contemporary muralism in public space. Os Gemeos did a wall in 2007 and last year the mural project Lak Aan Braak happend in this town. I guess we will see more murals growing by artists there.

City Bilder - Frm&Otecki, Jens Besser

Two recent Walls done during the project "City Bilder" in Dresden-Friedrichstadt. The polish artists FRM Kid and Otecki made a tribute to the artists group "Die Brücke", which was found in Dresden Friedrichstadt.
