In 2015 a "MEETING OF PUBLIC SPACE ART FESTIVAL ORGANISERS" took place in KOŠICE, SLOVAKIA.
The reason for the meet up was to reflect about the contemporary situation of muralism in Europe, especially in the east.
That's why the focos was on inviting organisers of Festivals from eastern european countries.
A lot of different points of view on muralism were discussed but the main topics were:
- Art as “make up” for buildings
- Ethics behind art in public space
- Is street art just adding to the problem we have with public space

For the project “Urban Script Continues – Ghettoresidency 2018” LackStreicheKleber e.V. is looking for two mural artists.
Friday 16th March Jens Besser holds a lecture in Kassel about his works of past, present and future. In the lecture he explains his development of murals from unauthorized works to official performances such as the Murals Of The Future-series together with Stefan Schwarzer.
Hot off the press Jens Besser presents his catalogue "Trains, Travels & Murals" on Friday 17th February at Magic City. His second catalogue gives an overview of murals, works done during travels and well in media recognized pieces. Works from nearly one decade are combined with texts of international art critics, curators and researchers. On 120 pages this catalogue shows the development and most important steps of Jens Bessers artistic path. The catalogue is published multilingual - English & German.
In 2014 the project Time for Murals took part in Dresden. Time for Murals was an international mural project meeting organized by Jens Besser and riesa efau in Dresden Friedrichstadt.
"Time For Murals" is an upcoming symposium about muralism. It's organised by riesa efau in cooperation with urban script continues. This muralist meeting takes part in Dresden-Friedrichstadt.
During the project artist will realized new murals for R.A.U.M. - City Bilder and a selection of offers for new murals in the area is shown at an exhibition. The whole updated information you find on the websites of riesa efau and urban script continues.
ElEuro went big for Icone5.9-Festival in the Area of Modena.

This July two Festivals happen that deal with Muralism. The Boombarstick Festival in Croatia brings a selection of artists to a small town in Croatia , who realize Murals, installation and exhibition stuff there. The BeachStreetFestival uses another way. They invite everybody to come to an isle to paint in an abandoned Hotel (photo above). The Festival entrance is free. Sounds kind of open source. You only need to pay for the travel expands and food i guess. Sounds Hippie and funny ;)
Klub7 - a group now based in Berlin - did this work last Summer in their hometown Halle/Saale for All you can paint Festival
The second collaborative mural i like to show is by CHU, TEC & P3DRO from Buenos Aires in Barracas - Buenos Aires/ Argentina during Meeting of Styles 2012.
It's kind of funny to see two works that have a distance to each other of at least 11500km done in same color scheme. I like both ;)
Other from Montreal went to Heerlen/Netherlands to make another crazy mural. This Town is maybe the only one in netherland that collects contemporary muralism in public space. Os Gemeos did a wall in 2007 and last year the mural project Lak Aan Braak happend in this town. I guess we will see more murals growing by artists there.
"Pagano" by Inti from Valparaiso/Chile did a huge work in Beirut/Lebanon for "WhiteWall"-Project. If you are in Beirut you can check out all interventions on their map.
